Questions arise
In 2001, Canton de Magog was annexed against its will by Magog.
Since the tax rate was much lower, the Quebec Municipal Commission then recommended that the increases not exceed 5%...!
Role after role, with indecent tax increases, out of proportion to the inflation rate, Magog considers us its main financier.
It is increasingly clear that a rural district such as District-6 has nothing to gain from being attached to a central city like Magog.
Is it reasonable and sustainable for us to contribute 30% of Magog's municipal tax revenue, and to compensate for the extravagant non-priority expenses of the urban city, all without benefiting from any local services?
Should we accept without flinching the predictable economic eviction of a certain number of owners?

*6 The Quebec Municipal Commission (File CM-56 009, 2002) recalls that 75% of a municipality's budget is used to cover the front-line services it must provide, namely aqueduct, sewers, municipal roads, urban lighting, waste collection and public safety.
